Here is a quiz thing that's been going around. The point is to measure how well-read you are in The Classics. (Not the Classics I majored in, Latin and Greek -- "classics" as in Moby Dick.)
Apparently the list is the top 106 books most often marked as "unread" by LibraryThing’s users. As in, they sit on the shelf to make you look smart or well-rounded but you never actually crack the cover. I have to say, though, that some of these are not "The Classics" as I would define them.
The directions:
"Bold the ones you've read, underline the ones you read for school, italicize the ones you started but didn't finish. (I did both where I read the book in school, but I had already read it on my own beforehand.) Put an asterisk (*) next to the ones you'd read again or recommend to someone, even if you originally read them for school."
There are a lot of books that aren't on this list but should be, IMO. Ah well. Mine not to quibble with the silly internet quiz thing.

Again... I really could be a lot geekier. I consume geeky media (comic books, movies, TV shows), and I'm certainly online enough, and I was a nerd in school, so what's getting in the way of Geek Domination on my part?
I think it's my complete ineptitude when it comes to manually fixing or fiddling with things to make them work better.
But my handwriting is pretty. (That didn't get me any points on this quiz...)
Anyway.

Yu-gi-oh Abridged makes me so happy.
I already e-mailed almost everyone I know, but I feel the need to make a LiveJournal post about this anyway.
Apparently last night was a bad time to try to drive over the mountains.
Order of Service, April 1, 2007
My company bought a bunch of snack-y type things for us today, to celebrate a truly stellar April.
I've been unable to post to LiveJournal for 4 days.
"Honor Adonis with all things beautiful."
Bacon Salt.
The weather here in Seattle today is cooler, while the sky remains sunny and blue.
Started working in the office four days a week (instead of only three).
This week lasted way way way too long.
Rachel is here preparing for a long-scheduled Live Action Role-Playing (LARP) tonight.

First quiz of the year! Although I am embarrassed to admit that I don't know the character I scored as. Or maybe I should be more embarrassed if I did remember him.... :-O
Andrew remembers a scary amount about this character, quickly filling me in on his entire life history. Um... wow. I'm impressed. I think.

All my life, I have focused on the bad things. Did the teacher compliment me 10 times and then, almost as an afterthought, happen to say 1 negative thing? Well, guess what I would obsess about for the next week.
Over time I have learned to focus on the good things in life a lot more. Now, I will give equal time to mulling over the positive and the negative things.
Still, at the end of every calendar year, I find myself getting depressed as I cast my mind back and mull and brood endlessly over all the year's missed opportunities, crossed signals, social awkwardnesses, times I was gauche, things I should have said or did but did not, things I said or did but should not have, times I was selfish or stupid or weak... and then I spend the last 3 days of the year feeling low about it.
So, to combat this depressing habit, I have made a list of my personal "20 bests of 2007."
Now as I get my resolutions for 2008 in shape, I have something positive to look at and remind myself that I really did come a long way this year.
So without further ado, I present --

This was going around a few months ago; finally got around to it.
But of course!

The internet just has infinite quizzes, doesn't it?
Here's another one, from the so-called "Mind Media Life Enhancement Network." It appears to be a site wanting to sell you products designed to enhance and maximize the mileage you get out of your natural style of learning... or something like that. (I just went there for the quiz, like any reasonable person.)
The Quiz
My "Brain Usage Profile:"
Auditory : 50%
Visual : 50%
Left : 64%
Right : 35%
The rather generic-at-the-beginning, more-accurate-towards-the-end written summary
I bolded the parts that seemed the most apropos.

I have to post this, or the Curse of the Unfulfilled Meme will be upon me forevermore!
Respond to this and I will do the following:
1. Tell you why I friended you.
2. Associate you with something - fandom, a song, a colour, a photo, etc.
3. Tell you something I like about you.
4. Tell you a memory I have of you.
5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
6. Tell you my favorite user pic of yours.
7. In return, you must post this in your LJ.

According to this quiz, I am in all probability "neuro-typical" -- that is, I don't have Asperger's syndrome.
Maybe a tiny bump towards the abnormal in the "social" area. I have to admit that I have had to learn social skills through careful observation of others, remembering and analyzing past events, making predictions and then testing them, and spending a lot of time mulling over cause and effect. Interacting with people "normally" is something I consciously put work into.
